In order to be selected for the Indian Army SSC Officer Recruitment, candidates must complete a number of steps. Candidates are first selected based on their qualifications and eligibility after completing the online application form. Following the selection of candidates, those who pass the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview are contacted for document verification. After passing the medical exam, the chosen applicants are subsequently shortlisted using the final merit list.

Tentative duration and dates for SSB: Five days SSB between May-Jul 2025 (Choice for SSB dates open for two weeks in March 2025)
Pre commission for training: Officer training academy, Gaya, Bihar
Duration of training: 49 weeks from Oct 2025 to Sep 2026
Stipend during training: Rs. 56,100 per month
Rank after training: Lieutenant
Salary on commissioning: CTC approx. 17-18 lakhs per annum (Excluding free medical cover and travel to home town once a year)
Type of commission: Short service commission
Minimum engagement years: 10 years
Maximum engagement years: 14 years
Option for release:
- First: After 5 years
- Second: After 10 years
- Third: After 14 years
Option for permanent commission: After 10 years
Primary arms/ service for commissions:
- Corps of engineers
- Corps of signals and electronics and mechanical engineers
- Candidates may get commissioned in other arms/services also.
